STUDI KESESUAIAN SIFAT ANATOMI GANGGANG HIJAU (Cladophora spp.) SEBAGAI BAHAN BAKU ALTERNATIF INDUSTRI PULP KERTAS

The Cladophora spp. Has never seen as a fiber source of pulp and paper before. Its grown at downstreams alongside the shore of Bantul and Kulonprogo Regency. The research of its species is needed in order to develop the region potential resources.
The research was a factorial (3×3) experiment in CRD. As factors there were The growth stage in 3 levels: early growth, medium and Advanced growth; and the posisition of the cells in 3 levels: tip, centre and base. Cladophora catched along the bank at the estuary of Opak river in Depok, Kretek, Bantul Regency.
The result show that the position of cells have no affect to the structureanatomy properties of pulp and paper needs; but it is high significally affected by the growth stage. A cell length is short (35um to 76 um) with note that there were many cell structure with unlimited length that not include in computation yet for technically reasons. Cell diameter is large (35 um to 52 um), cell wall is thin or medium (3.07 um to 3.23 um), lumen vessel is large (28 um to 46.44 um) exept at the advanced growth stage that has only 1.16 um. Runkell Ratio is
0.13 to 0.22 (I/II grade), Flexibility Ratio is 0.61 to 0.89 (II grade), Felting power is 1 to 1.47, Coefficient of Rigidity is 0.07 (I grade) The average grade of the structure-anatomy properties needed by pulp and paper is II; it could recommended as a raw material of pulp and paper industry but an advanced research still needed to confirm
